What potters should know

Frits are man-made fluxes that melt between about 760 and 930 °C; because the oxides are pre-melted they are insoluble and stable in the bucket. See Ferro's data sheet for the exact analysis.

Dry ceramic materials generate respirable silica dust. Use a NIOSH-approved N95 or P100 respirator and adequate ventilation when mixing dry, and wet-clean surfaces.
