Make · plan, fire, track
From clay to calendar.
Tell Claybench what you’re making and when it’s due. It gives you back a week-by-week plan that respects the physics of ceramics — and then tracks every piece through every stage until it’s on the shelf.
The plan
A deadline in, a real production schedule out.
“50 mugs for a show in eight weeks.” Claybench works backward from the date through drying, bisque, glaze, and the glaze fire — sizing batches to your kiln, checking cone compatibility, and accounting for shrinkage and loss. Every plan is validated before it’s saved, so the numbers hold up instead of reading like a plausible guess.
# 50 mugs · show Nov 22
Throw 25/week · 6mm walls
Bone-dry ~4 days @ 45% RH
Bisque loads: Nov 8, Nov 12
Glaze fire: Nov 18 · cone 6
✓ validated · kiln capacity OK
The Bench
Your whole studio on one timeline.
The Bench is a single production timeline: batches of ware move left to right through wedge, form, dry, bisque, glaze, and fire; kiln loads are containers they drop into; deadlines are hard right edges. Today is always in view. Touch a batch and its glazes, clay bodies, and history slide in — like grabbing a tool at the wheel, not walking to another room.
Track
Log what happened. Get accurate timing for free.
Every stage is an event
Advancing a piece writes to an append-only log, not a status field. That means real undo, and timing reconstructed from what actually happened rather than what you guessed.
Firings are first-class
Pieces don’t carry firing dates — firings do. Schedule a load, edit its manifest, fire it, and record a multi-outcome unload. Kiln scheduling is the constraint, and Claybench treats it like one.
Replans when reality shifts
A cracked batch or a slipped firing doesn’t blow up the plan — log the disruption and Claybench recalculates the path to your deadline.
Materials
Glazes that fit your studio — and a forecast of what you’ll need.
Compatibility-filtered glaze search
Search recipes filtered to your clay bodies, your kiln, and your cone — not every glaze in existence. The ones that won’t work for you don’t show up.
Defect diagnosis
Describe a crack, a pinhole, or a crawl and get likely causes drawn from a structured defect catalog, with safety guidance kept intact.
Material forecast & analytics
See projected clay and glaze needs across your plans, plus failure rates by clay body and glaze so you can fix what keeps breaking.
On the iPhone
A daily driver for the studio floor.
Log stages at the wheel, check today’s tasks, and track firings from your phone — offline-first, so a spotty studio connection never stops you. It syncs back to the same plan you build on the web.
